Big, but in a John Goodman The Big Lebowski way. In other words, a tad too heavy for a chardonnay and without the grace you would find in an old world bottle. Even a bit syrupy. But despite those reservations we liked it for what it was, sharp, not too nuanced, but with some peach and pear that paired well with a simple dinner (vegetarian soup, salad, etc.). In a blind taste I think I would be hard pressed to guess this as 100% chardonnay and not a blend. There is so much Chard/Viognier/Marsanne etc., etc., around that I would have put it in that camp. A dirt cheap bottle in the US btw…
